Professional ski school for people with disabilities since 2021
People with disabilities have always been very welcome at the Winterberg Ski School, but unfortunately lessons often failed due to a lack of equipment that was difficult to obtain - it was very difficult to get suitable equipment to Winterberg, especially for seated skiers. Since 2019, we have been working hard to change this situation and have been able to draw on a large pool of equipment since 2021. With the newly founded POOL WINTERBERG, 17 mono and biski devices are now stored in Winterberg, as well as crutch skis for standing skiing and the necessary equipment for skiing with visual impairments! Our ski school manager Marc is the state coach for Para Alpine skiing in NRW for the North Rhine-Westphalia Disabled and Rehabilitation Sports Association and also works as a guide and coach for the German Para junior ski team. In addition to his activities in competitive sports, he also works for the Bavarian Disabled and Rehabilitation Sports Association as a trainer for the Para Ski Instructor course. In addition to many internal training courses, some of our instructors have completed an additional training course for accompanying skiers (mono and biski), and we have also organized our own three-day training course in Winterberg with Blindenskisport Lappersdorf. We are very much looking forward to your visit!
