1953
On December 1, 1953, Karl Peis officially founded the first ski school in Winterberg!
1961
Private lessons are introduced. After initially only offering group lessons in the first few years, private lessons were added in the 61/62 season for individual customer care.
1971
Hans Buhl completes his training as a qualified ski instructor at the Tauplitz Alm in Austria.
1976
The ski school opens the new season on an artificial ski slope on October 10, 1976. The artificial mats were purchased in the mid-1970s due to a lack of snow.
1980
After several years as a trainer and ski instructor in Austrian ski schools, Hans Buhl joins Karl Peis' Winterberg ski school on a permanent basis.
1992
After several years in charge of the ski school, Hans Buhl takes over the entire Winterberg ski school from Karl Peis.
1994
After completion of the bypass road and Herrloh tunnel, the ski school moves from the former mini-golf course on the right-hand side of the Herrloh slopes to the left-hand side of the Herrloh to its current location and training slope.
2000
A branch of the ski school is opened at lift no. 10 in Bremberg.
2009
The first ski instructors are hired full-time for the season.
2015
At the age of 22, Marc Buhl takes over the ski school from his grandfather Hans Buhl after a long time in the business.
2018
Digitalization is also gaining ground in the ski school. Courses and individual lessons can now be booked online.
2019
Move to the current location. Together with the Herrloh hut and the Klante ski rental, the company moves into a large multifunctional building.
2020
The ski school in summer: guided bike tours and hikes under the name bike & hike winterberg
2021
#No.handicap! The ski school is fully equipped and trained for skiing with a handicap.
2023
70th anniversary of the Winterberg ski school!
